Devin Ingram Blog: Ready, Set.... Almost Go

Minooka track and field has been going through practices for almost a month now and our indoor debut is right around the corner! Our first meet is the Normal West Invitational held at Illinois Wesleyan University, so mark your calendars! On February 27th at 5 o’clock Minooka will be competing against some other very talented teams in our first meet! We’re all excited to show the talent and coaching skills that we behold.

The Minooka Posse' wil be ready to roll on February 27 at the Normal West Invitational

Speaking for the team, I believe I can say that we are all aware of the various teams and their talent. Teams will be ready to debut their top athletes to make a great first impression of the season that is underway. Minooka is one of the teams who have yet to show their potential this year. From previous years we have had great success in our season opener. Hopefully this year will be the same. One thing is for sure, there is going to be some great competition including last year’s 2A State Championship team, Cahokia and 3A powerhouse teams like Belleville West and Edwardsville to name a few!

I’ve witnessed an impressive growth in our team as more athletes have come out to join the program over the last week or two. Runners have been battling for the spots on relays and open events. Not getting chosen will hopefully only drive them to work harder to earn a spot strengthening our team as a whole and I love it! The drive that the athletes have attained is phenomenal! I hope it sticks with us as the season unfolds!
Thanks for reading everyone, and good luck this week!
