Hello, I know I have not blogged since indoor season and I apologize for that. Everything was crazy with ending my senior year including track and homework and prom and graduating and much more. However, I would like to end my high school track career with a blog to wrap things up.
Coverage
Hey, this weekend was just too great I swear. I finished off my highschool track season down state at Charlestonl Illinois, and competed in four events (100 hurdles, 400, 300 hurdles, and 200). I don't even know where to start..Last year I did all four events, and broke five records over the course of two days. I took home a third place state trophy all by myself.
Charleston, Ill- Franfort Lincoln-Way East won their state championship scoring 79 points to defeat defending champion who scored Edwardsville 68.5 pts. Glen Ellyn Glenbard West took the final trophy with a third place finish 31 pts.
Charleston—Springfield Southeast produced another state championship- their fourth in a row- by scoring 66 points and routed upstart Carbondale (39) and Melrose Park Walther Lutheran (39). Chicago Lindblom or the one-woman army “Team Shamier Little” placed fourth (38).
Charleston, Ill- Moweaqua (Central A & M) repeats as state champion scoring 60 points. Erie takes second with 56, and Aurora Christian gets the third place trophy with 52 pts.
Edwardsville came away during the afternoon with 12 total entries into Saturday’s championship final (11 individuals, 1 relay). Frankfort Lincoln-Way East will have 11 (8,3), Glen Ellyn Glenbard West 7 (6,1), and St. Charles East 7 (4,3).
The stage is set for Saturday’s championship as Springfield Southeast leads the field with 13 entries (10 individuals, 3 relays). E. St. Louis Sr. 7 (4,3), Melrose Park Walther Lutheran 7 (5,2), and Carbondale 7 (5,2).

The 2A classification is as unstable and unpredictable as a volcano. It seems anything can and will happen with this class in terms of who is coming and going. Case in point: Chicago Morgan Park is back here after spending time in the 3A ranks. Now make room for E. St. Louis Senior. The Flyerettes have won more state titles than any team (boys or girls) in IHSA history. They are the elders of this sport looking to get on the top of the podium at the expense of three-time defending champion Springfield Southeast.
Just when you thought it was safe to go ahead and crown a new team champion, 2012 defending state champion has decided to wake up from their season long slumber. The Raiders won their sectional over a tough Decatur (St. Teresa) team 131-130.
