2024 MileSplit IL Team Power Rankings-Week 2

2A Girls

CommentsThe Windy City city has blown the Tars to the top of the rankings for the first time at this early point of the season. Super sophomore Jordan Hamb is all in for the team, leading the class in two events (60H & TJ). Leah Smith, an early surprise, also pose as threat in the sprints. She leads the class in the 400m. Normal (U-High) is a legitimate threat at this point in the season, Zoe Carter (distance) and Emily Gross (HJ) are two big reasons why. The Pioneers also leads the class in the 4x200m, and have Reese Mitchell ready to strike in the near future. Tinley Park hasn't been a team traditionally in the ranks, but now they are number three. Janiyah Oglesby is the class leader in the long jump, Yakyra Wilder is a threat in the shot put. The Titans rankings spot is also aided by help in the hurdles, jumps, and sprint relays. Delilah Helenhouse was a force for Benet Academy early on, in addition to Valerie Sarros in the high jump. Payton Mathelier is a middle-distance threat for the Redwings as well. Tolono (Unity) remains in the rankings, Erica Woodard (800 & 1600m) and Briana Ritchie (60H + LJ) are big reasons why look for the Rockets to be mainstays in these ranks. As winter sports close and athletes begin to round into shape, look for many changes in this classification.
