Coach Angelo Brown: Fahrenheit 2014

There is not a more polarizing figure in Illinois track and field than Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) High School and Illinois Elite Track Club Coach Angelo Brown.  Brown first came on the Prairie State landscape as a revered off-season club coach who guided many athletes to prominence including his daughter Aaliyah Brown.  Brown joined the Lincoln-Way East coaching staff in 2010 during Aaliyah’s freshman year. Although the focal point of the team was about the fleeting superstar Aaliyah, Coach Brown became just as big a figure as his yearling.  As the program began to build itself into a brand the criticism followed. All things came to a boiling point at the beginning of the 2013 season when Brown lashed ruthlessly to all of his critics with a tough talking interview on Illinois Prepster.  Needless to say he did not make any friends at that moment in time, but by the end of the record breaking championship season, he had gained a legion of admirers.  Now, the question is: “What does the present as well as the future look like without the Franchise?” Check out the two-part exclusive and fiery interview with Coach Angelo Brown and you be the deciding factor.
