Proviso West Invitational 2009

In Illinois at the Proviso West Invitational, several solid performances were recorded in the boys events. 2008 World Juniors team member Dan Block of Lake Park had a solid mark in the shot over 60 feet at  US #9 61'0.50", despite following his other attempts. Danny Pawola of Neuqua Valley checked in with a time in the 3200 meter run which put him just outside of the US top 10 with his 9:15.50 victory. Pawola ran a fairly even race with a 4:38 split at 1600 meters. Neuqua Valley also won the 4x800 meter relay over York High School in a time of 8:11. Russell Petty of Naperville Central had a successful clearance of 6'9" to win the high jump easily and the football star also picked up first place finishes in the long jump and triple jump to sweep the jumping events.
