Daniella Bunch (Jr., Mahomet-Seymour, IL) had the goal of breaking the 50 foot barrier in the girls shot put all season long. On Monday evening Bunch did just that, winning the Corn Belt Conference Meet event with a new outdoor U.S. #1 throw of 51-00.75. According to one onlooker at the meet, Bunch's series of six throws were 49-00, foul, 50-00.50, 49-05, 51-00.75 and 49-09. This throw leaves the central Illinois junior only 2-03 off the junior class record of 53-03.75 set by Michelle Carter (TX) in 2002.  Meet Page & Results

On Monday evening Bunch did just that, winning the Corn Belt Conference Meet event with a new outdoor U.S. #1 throw of 51-00.75. According to one onlooker at the meet, Bunch's series of six throws were 49-00, foul, 50-00.50, 49-05, 51-00.75 and 49-09. This throw improves upon her PR of 49-05 thrown last month, while leaving the central Illinois junior only 2-03 off the junior class record of 53-03.75 set by Michelle Carter (TX) in 2002.
