Monday, 2/27/17. Entries deadline is 12:00 NOON, Tuesday, March 14
th

Conrm you have access to the 2017 Gene Armer Invitational
o If you do not have access to the 2017 Gene Armer Invitational and have a
signed contract, email UHS Athletic Director, Stephen Waller at
swaller@usd116.org.
Proceed to enter/update your roster and enter your athletes into the meet.
Only enter one contestant per event.
Changes or corrections: Initial entries must be made by 12:00 NOON, Tuesday, March
14
th
. Later that aernoon
(by about 3:30 pm) an alphabetical entry list will be posted on
the Direct Athletics website. Once the entry lists are posted, coaches will have until
12:00 NOON on Wednesday, March 15
th
to make any corrections to their line-ups.
Coaches will be able to log-in and make corrections/changes to their line-ups in the
same manner that they made their initial entries. Heat Sheets will be assembled and
posted online Thursday.
Volunteers: Please be prepared to supply a coach to work as a head eld event judge or
to assist with a eld event. E-mail Stephen Waller at swaller@usd116.org if there is a
eld event that you prefer to work, otherwise, work assignments will be randomly
assigned as needed.
Coaches Meeting: There is a mandatory coaches meeting in the North-West corner at
8:15 AM. Scratches in running events will not need to be done at the meeting. Scratches
for the eld events can be done at the event. No substitutions are allowed on the day of
the meet unless you have a note from a doctor or a school administrator.
Results: Live results during competition will be available at
ghtingillini.com/track/livestats and posted in the north hallway and bulletin board in
the southwest corner of the track.
Event Seeding: For the 200/400/4x200/4x400 runners will be seeded from fastest to
slowest in lanes 5-6-4-3-2-1. Runners will be seeded 5-4-6-3-7-2-8-1 for the 60/60H.
The 800/1600/3200/4x800 will be seeded in alleys and run with a 1 turn stagger.
Scoring: We will score 8places (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1), and awards will go to placers 1
st
through 6
th
. First and second place trophies will be awarded to the top two teams in the
mens and womens divisions.
3200 Run: Entries will be restricted to athletes who meet the performance standards.
Male competitors in the two-mile have to be able to run under 11:00 minutes and
female competitors have to be able to run under 13:00 minutes. To enter an athlete in
this event, enter him/her on DirectAthletics including an entry note with proof of
performance. Additionally, teams must send all qualifying time verications to Stephen
Waller via fax at 217-384-3532 or email at swaller@usd116.org. ONLINE ENTRY DOES
NOT GUARANTEE MEET ENTRY. Our intent is to limit the eld size to 16 high level
performers in this event. Times in the 1600m run can also serve as qualifying times for
the 3200m run. A conrmed time of 5:00 for boys and 6:00 minutes for girls can earn
an athlete a position in this race. The entry list distributed on Tuesday will be the
accepted list of entries.
Parking: Attached is a parking map showing available lots surrounding the Armory
building. University spaces & lots not signed as being enforced 24/7 may be parked in
on the weekend.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1/4 pyramid spikes or /ats.
Gill Fusion Starting Blocks will be provided at the meet. Feel free to bring
your own blocks if you are not comfortable using this model.
$185.00 per team- please send to Urbana High School before the meet.
We will have a hospitality room for the coaches. The hospitality room is for
coaches and o\cials only. Athletes and spectators will not be permitted.
The 3
rd /oor hallway may be used for warm-ups.
No team camps are allowed in the bleachers labeled as such.
*Restricted Areas: All red portions of the track at the nish area and the
entire nish straight away. No one other than athletes actively competing in
running events are allowed to cross the nish area during the running event
portion of the meet.
General admission is $5.00 for adults, $4 for students with a student ID.
Concessions are available in the Armory, and campus-town has many fast
food and sit-down restaurants where you could purchase food.
