Coming into Saturday's blockbuster meet, all eyes were on two-time defending 3A state champion and #4 Hinsdale Central.

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning to watch a cross country meet and the overflowing crowd that headed inside of the Deer Grove East Forest Preserve in Palatine proved that fact. The girls varsity race was one of two featured varsity races that commenced at 10:20am and the fun was about to begin...

The good weather was out in full force for the cross country faithful who witnessed another great Palatine Meet of Champions.

Assumption, Daviess County, Male, and St. Xavier all drove to Chicago to race against the best of Illinois.

Over the past seven years it has been either the host Palatine or Assumption of Louisville, KY who walked away as team champions. Unless something out of the ordinary changes, look for Yorkville to fight Wheaton-Warrenville South for top honors.
