Williamsville East junior-to-be Kala Allen and Cornwall graduate Soroya Hudson both competed at The USATF Youth National Championships at Benedectine University in Illinois last week. Allen has won two outdoor 400m dash state championships, including this years in 54.75.

After one year off due to financial problems the Empire State Games return this summer to Buffalo, NY from June 21st-25th.
While the Eastern States Championships have become more of a local meet it still serves a purpose. It allows some athletes one more chance to qualify for states or nationals while also serving as a sharpening meet for those who have already secured their ticket to the championship meets.
