Coach Paul Hass Says...

"I don’t think it is possible to have a “big win” in the first meet of the season; our focus all year and all season will be on running our best in every meet, but doing what is necessary to run our best when it counts the most – in the state series.  It was certainly nice to get an early season win, particularly against such elite teams as New Trier, Wheaton South, Palatine, and other quality teams that day, but that was not our focus.  We were concerned with doing what we needed to do to be our best.  In fact, before we even knew the team scores I told our parents that I was pleased with our effort no matter where we finished, because I knew we ran well; if you race well as a team, there is really not much more one can ask as a coach."
