Salute To Seniors: Aron Sebhat - Niles North

Salute To Seniors: Aron Sebhat - Niles North

What was your most memorable race?

My most memorable race was without a doubt winning the Peoria Woodruff Invitational with my teammates this fall. Everyone did well. It was one of those days where everything just came together.

Who would you consider your biggest competition?

I can't really point at a specific person or meet, but looking at all the times that people throw down throughout the state weekend after weekend really pushed me this year.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most?

I would say placing 2nd in the 4x800m relay at state stood out more than all my other races. I had so much fun with the guys on that relay and the entire Niles North distance squad this track season.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

If I could change one thing I would've definitely worked harder a little earlier in high school and put in more mileage.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

I'd have to say that fighting the knee problems I had my Junior year was my biggest barrier.

What will you miss the most?

I'll miss the distance coaching staff and playing castle before track meets with my teammates.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Just to have fun with the sport. Get the work done on the hard days, but make sure you find time to joke around with your teammates because they can play a big role in stopping you from taking every race too serious.

What are your college plans?

I will be studying Nutrition and Exercise Science and competing in cross country and track&field at the University of Nebraska in the fall.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

My Coaches Dan Horyn, Drew Deppen, Bill Sullivan, and all the savages on my team #taylorgardner #priscila #forestpreservebandits.
