Amanda Fox and Lindsey Rakosnik two of the top distance runners in the state of Illinois have signed to run for the Fighting Illini. Fox, the Illinois Cross Country State Champion also won the Nike Midwest Regional and finished ninth at Foot Locker Nationals. For her success she was awarded the Gatorade Illinois Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Rakosnik from Glenbard East finished seventh at the Illinois Cross Country Championships. She has a personal best time of 16:48 for three miles. Both athletes look to be an integral part of the Illinois distance program in years to come.
