REGISTRATION/MEET INFORMATION
The indoor track & field season has yet to materialize, but assembling some of the best talent is in progress. The 2024 edition of the CYUP Misfits Invitational proved to be an enormous affair that buzzed during the aftermath for a long time.
Check out key entrants heading into 12/9:
Boys-
Ben Crane (Sr., Winnetka New Trier, IL): The recently two-time cross country All-American has entered the HOKA Mile. Crane has a personal best of 4:16.21y. He is more known for the longer distances, such as his impressive 8:58.17 two-mile.
Tony Anania (Sr., Norwalk, IA): Anania is Iowa's 1600m state champion. He has run a swift 4:07.81 and is currently the top seed in the HOKA Mile. Anania has also run 1:53 in the 800m. Anania is also slated to run the two-mile.
Ayden Taylor (Sr., Liberty Wentzville, MO): Has a personal best of 4:11.96 for 1600m. Taylor placed fourth at the 2024 Festival of Miles.
Jaden Merrick (Jr., Cedar Falls, IA): An 8:55.14 3200m performer in last year's Drake Relays, Merrick is ready to burn the Gately track up in the full two-mile.
Owen Horeni (Jr., Yorkville, IL): 4th in last year's 3A 800m with a time of 1:52.34, Horeni is entered in the 600m.
Andrew Cartier (Sr., De Pere, WI): One of the top triple jumpers in the midwest last season, Cartier is entered in his favorite event and aims to break the meet record.
Girls-
Mia Sirois (So., Barrington, IL): The all-time state record holder in cross country was recently crowned first-team All-American at the Nike Cross Nationals. Sirois is also the defending 3A state champion (3200m). She enters the HOKA Mile and will test her mettle against a fabulous field.
Elyse Wilmes (Sr., Father Tolton Regional, MO): An excellent middle-distance runner with an 800m PB of 2:04.94 (national champion). She will compete compete in the HOKA Mile.
Annika Swan (Jr., Chicago St. Ignatius): Has clocked a blistering 4:46.81 for 1600m; ran 2:11.36 (800m); entered in the HOKA Mile.
Kayleigh Norris (Sr., Harrison, MO): Class 4A cross country champion entered in the HOKA mile with a time of 4:49.40.
Angelena Bullocks (Sr., Chicago Whitney Young): One of the state's and region's premier speedsters. Bullocks has dashed the 100m in 11.59. Bullocks is just as potent in the 200m with an all-time best of 23.76w.
Jordan Hamb (Jr., Chicago South Shore International Prep): Hamb stormed to elite status during her sophomore year with outstanding efforts from the short hurdles to the triple jump. She earned All-American status in the heptathlon.
Kaylee Meyer (Sr., Schaumburg): All-American performer in the high jump at a robust 5'8."
