Jack Jennings is enroute to a freshman boys meet record at the Palatine Meet of Champions last year.
Just ahead of the Palatine Meet of Champions, Palatine Fremd sophomore Jack Jennings set the freshman boys 2.50 mile meet record last year with a time of 12:29. Now, competing on the varsity level in year two, undoubtedly, he will have a bigger goal to accomplish by the time Saturday afternoon arrives.
Jennings was a youth running star who started with the Palatine Pack TFCC Club. He did not falter in his first season last year, placing 41st at the state meet in 15:01. Both marks were top choices for the class of 2027.
Jennings is now ready for more to be a major player, maybe even upstaging his star teammate, veteran senior Rory Gaan. The apprentice produced the team's top three-mile performance at the First To The Finish Invitational earlier in the month. In it, Jennings clocked a seventh-place finish in 14:49.
Stay tuned over the weekend to see what happens with Jack Jennings!
