EUGENE, Ore--The Olympic Trials were Jayden Ulrich's coming-of-age celebration. She competed in her first major senior championship in the Discus Throw. The former prep star from East Alton-Wood River High School is a rising senior at the University of Louisville (previously at Indiana University).

Ulrich bolted from out of the medal spot (4th) into the second place with a toss of 62.63 meters (205'5"). She does not have the Olympic Standard and now awaits selection to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games pending qualification in the final World Athletic rankings.

World Athletics typically selects the top 32 per event, and Ulrich was ranked 29th in the world at the time of this publication.

Ulrich believes she will be chosen as a team member once everything is revealed. "I believe on [July 7] is when they will announce the team," she said.
