Normal U-High had a good ending to the indoor season, which carried over into the opening outdoor meets. The Pioneer ladies have early state leads in the 4x100 and 4x200m relays, along with veteran Reese Mitchell. Freshman Hannah Safranek (hurdles) and Izzi Thurston (throws) could be critical weapons as the season progresses.
South Shore took their show on the road to the Lone Star state and the Texas Relays. They produced a state lead in the 100h (Jordan Hamb) and top five short sprint relays. Olivia Marshall is a problem, a good one that is. She leads the class in both throw events. Geneseo looks strong in the field at this point if you consider the antics of Jocelyn Cechowicz and Brooke Boone.
