BOSTON, MA--It was another great day of track and field at the 2024 New Balance Nationals Indoor, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center on the campus of Boston University. Day three ushered in a multitude of championship qualifying and final events. Let's dive into the Saturday action.

Senior superstar Daniel Simmons American of American Fork (Utah) put on a clinic for the fans in the 5000m. He led off section one of three and took off like a runaway train, hitting the first and second checkpoints in 4:26.93 and 8:50.16. He completed his quest as the best to do ever do it indoors with a mind blogging 13:38.86.

Section two provided some great local fare in the name of Dylan Maloney (Jr., Plainfield South) and Will Kozlowski (Sr., Chicago Lane). Maloney staked himself off the leader's pace through the first third of the race before nearly running neck to neck at 3200m (9:20.44).

At the 4000m mark, Maloney seized control of the race and pushed sub-35-second circuits. He continued to open a gap on the field and ultimately brought home an impressive victory in 14:29.93. Overall, he earned All-American honors with a fifth-place finish.

Kozlowski was not a slouch. He finished seventh in his section and 19th overall with a time of 14:59.45.

Other notables-
Katelyn Lehnen (Jr., Chatham-Glenwood) ran in the 60m prelims and recorded a season-best 7.61. Unfortunately, she did not advance to the semi-final round. Lehnen competed in the 200m prelims and improved her on her IL#2 mark with a time of 24.60.

Luis Flores (Jr., Burbank St. Laurence) competed in his first national championship and placed 62nd in the boys 2 mile. He clocked a personal best 9:21.68. Dylan Ybarra (Sr., O'Fallon) contested the deuce and took 87th in 9:28.06. Ethan Hogan (Sr., Columbia) was 99th with a time of 9:35.21.
