The junior from Chicago Whitney Young, Angelena Bullocks, has been a pleasant surprise since transferring from Westinghouse. After assuming her place near the top of the leaderboards for most of the preseason, she took her talents up another notch this past weekend at the Illinois Meet of Champions.
Bullocks started her impressive day with nail-biting and is now state-leading 60m in 7.52. She held off Mariyah Robinson (So., Chicago Simeon) who clocked 7.55. Bullocks returned later to win the 400m in a personal best of 1:00.54.
