Toeing The Line: Ali Ince College Choice Special Edition

It seems like "Ali" Allison Ince has been with us forever. We tracked her at Normal Kingsley Middle School, where she was already an outstanding performer in cross country and track & field.

As a freshman at Normal Community HS in the fall of 2020, Ince made an immediate impact on the cross country scene despite it being during the Covid-19 time warp. She ran a full slate of meets and went undefeated, running a still personal best of 16:58 at the Granite City Sectional.

In three years of high school track and field, Ince has set numerous personal, school, and IHSA records. She owns the class indoor and outdoor 800m records through her junior year (2:04.77i/2:03.17). In 2021, it was perhaps a signature moment as a freshman at the truncated IHSA State Track & Field Championship, Ince completed a fantastic feat in which she won the 800 and 1600 (set class record 4:40.85), and anchored the 4x400 to victory.

The time has arrived as a senior, and Ince took time with the MileSplit IL team to discuss her present and future plans, which include announcing her college commitment.

Congratulations Ali!
