Richard Spring Invite Snap Recap

RESULTS

---------------------
Peoria IL-

It was gloomy at historic Detweiller Park, but the rain held off. In return, the runners put in many spectacular performances that all could be proud of.

Girls-
For the second straight weekend, #1 Downers Grove North, #2 York, and #3 Prospect set themselves apart from the rest of the fray. And for the second straight weekend, Downers North got past their friendly rivals. The Trojans did not have their ace, Lily Eddington (So), but they put all five runners under 17:45 and scored 66 points to tip York 68 and Prospect 69.

The individual winner was Veronica Znajda (Jr., Prospect), who took her second invite title for the second weekend in a row with a time of 16:52. She took the lead at the halfway point and was never threatened afterward.

Boys-

Despite having friends from across the border, Illinois could still cop the first three places and the trophies. #3 Hersey held off a robust #14 Oak Park-River Forest squad 127-135. #8 O'Fallon was third with 141 points. The Huskies used a 49-second scoring split to get the job done. Zach Frayder (Sr.) produced a massive effort with a time of 14:29 to finish in 14:29.

Dylon Nalley (Sr., Marion) accomplished one of his goals: running as close to 14:00 as possible. Nalley immediately cleared the field, using a first mile in 4:29. After a second mile in 9:16, Nalley had to dodge a ton of runners who still had a mile to go but still ran 14:00.2.
