Liam Newhart has enjoyed a terrific senior season as an athlete. He finished as the 3A cross country runner-up last fall and recently signed a letter of intent to be a University of Wisconsin Badger.
So let the games begin!
Proviso West is one of the few high schools in the country with a state-of-the-art modern 200m indoor track and field barn. So, how quite fitting was it for the Oak Park-River Forest Huskie to start his season and complete the day in victory mode?
Newhart was entered in the 800m and if the long-term journey is to be a state champion in four months, particularly in the 1600m or 3200m, it would be a great investment to put in some speed work. It was a crafty effort for Newhart who is confident that he will do big things this season.
