Isaiah Whitaker is on the way to another record-breaking attempt at the AAU Nationals
The CYUP Misfits Invitational picked up another outstanding athlete, this one happens to be a world record holder.
As an eighth grader, Isaiah Whitaker of Illinois set the world record in the pole vault in the 14-year-old category at the 2022 AAU National Championship with an amazing clearance of 16'2." The mark which eclipsed the former 16'1.75" has now been certified. Whitaker's mark was good enough to be ranked No. 2 in the state last year had he been eligible.
Whitaker, now a freshman at Bloomington Central Catholic, recently competed in his first competion at the Texas Pole Vault Explosion. He cleared 15'4.25".
