With the Cross Country season coming to an end for most, the focus begins to turn to Track & Field.
While some athletes are taking breaks from the cross country season, many are preparing for the indoor track season. Many coaches take this much-deserved time away from their athletes to spend time with their families and mentally prepare for the season, leaving some athletes to train on their own or completely without a program.
While distance runners may be able to do some training outside during the winter, sprinters and other power athletes do not have the option. Even distance runners, especially mid-distance runners, need access to indoor facilities to get some solid speed training during the frigid months.
It is important to note that indoor winter training programs are essential to the development of athletes in the Chicagoland area.
