Sandwiched between pillars of girls sectionals meets were several boys conference meets. It so happened that one of the state's premier conferences, the West Suburban Conference (Silver Div.), held its championship at Proviso West High School in Hillside. The seven-member organization was led by Oak Park-River Forest who narrowly defeated Glenbard West 115-112.

4x800: Lyons Township kicked off the festivities with a state-best 7:52.55. The Lions anchor Jocqael Thorpe motored home with a 1:53.8 carry; York 7:54.23, Oak Park-River Forest 8:00.93, Hinsdale Central 8:02.54; Downers Grove North 8:05.63, Glenbard West 8:06.07

4x100: Oak Park-River Forest continues to amaze in this short relay. The Huskies put the hurt on the field and dropped a IL#2 42.12

3200: Roy Llewellyn of Downers Grove North ran most of the race up front which led to him setting a PB 9:26.77

800: Daniel Watcke of Hinsdale Central is starting to show that he might be the person to beat in the half-mile in several weeks. Once again, it was a slow opening lap followed by a sizzling closer that netted an eye-opening product in 1:54.62; Thorpe 1:55.96

400: Will Heuer of York nearly dropped a second off of his previous best to run 50.19

Sean Hopkins: The Glenbard West workhorse senior enjoyed a banner day. He won the long jump (22-0.25), 100 (10.84), triple jump (45-3.75), and an improper lean prevented stopped the sweep in the 200 (2nd- 22.21; Nahlyee Bryant/OPRF 22.13)

300H: Tyler Vizgirda of Lyons Twp dropped nearly a two-second best, closing out the final hurdles in 39.59

1600: Pierce Cousins of Glenbard West used a final lap under 60 seconds to win 4:21.76

4x400: A good battle ensued throughout the first three legs which ultimately led Watcke to close things out for his teammates with a 48.6 leg. The final time is an IL#5 3:24.72
