2021 MileSplit IL Power Rankings: Week 3

1A Girls

1. Winnebago
10. Newton
The Printout:
Winnebago has made the move up to the top spot for this week on the strength of multiple state-level relays, and the distance crew showing up and out at the recent Distance Night in Palatine. In addition, the Indians gained points from the non-distance sector which could make a tremendous impact later in the season.

It's still early in the game so do not count out St. Joseph Ogden,. The Spartans have state champions and all-state athletes on their roster who knows when it's time to strike. Senior Atleigh Hamilton will lead the charge in the long jump as well as on the relays.

Speaking of champions, DuQuoin, who happens to be the last team champion, has risen into the top three. Relays and Olivia Phillips appear to be the early formula for the Indian's success.

Seneca and Salt Fork remain in the top five. Expect new teams to be added weekly and team dynamics begin to change.
