Josh Puyear was part of the outstanding Deerfield High School underclassmen group several seasons ago that turned a few heads. Now as a senior, he is revealing all of the promise set before him. In five contests this season, he has not finished below third place. The biggest catch this season is a victory in his most recent outing against rival Highland Park in which Puyear defeated the state ranked Jason Polydoris with a personal best three-miler 14:58.
Week 6: Great efforts should never go unnoticed and the fans responded by providing Puyear with 366 votes (41.2%) vs. 319 (35.9%) for Drew Rogers of Herscher. It was a very close affair that could have swung in either direction.
Congrats to Josh and we wish him the best the remainder of the season!
