She is intimidating in stature yet soft-spoken. However, when it comes to track and field, Diamonasia Taylor always carries a big stick. The multi-talented phenom from who recently graduated from Urbana High School has not been afraid to try different things despite being labeled a high jumper. Taylor has run a gamut of the events on the track including relays. She has even thrown the discus a few times. At the 2019 state championship, she placed second in the 2A long jump soaring over 19-feet.
But of course, everyone knows Diamonasia Taylor for her high jump exploits. As a three-time state champion, Taylor has flirted with the magical 6-foot barrier which would have been in serious jeopardy had there been an outdoor season. Be as it may, Taylor will be remembered not for her personal best and national elite 5'11" status, but rather as a great team player and competitor. We know she will soar at the next level! Best wishes to her!
