The original preview indicated that Arcola as a favorite but it was not a glowing one. "Perhaps by the time this relay rolls around on Saturday, it will be a formality," then said editor Tony Jones. The Purple Raiders quarter-mile quartet did not waste any time winning the fourth and fastest prelim on Thursday and took the fastest time (3:22.43).
On Saturday, the crew of Brandon Lebeter (Jr.)- 51.7, Clayton Strader (Jr.)-50.4, Jamie Warren (Sr.)-49.4, Fedrico Galaviz (Sr.)- 49.1 made their town (just 25 mins up I-57) proud winning in a very impressive 3:20.65. The mark was the fourth fleetest to be run by a Class A school. It was also the 17th best time across all classes in 2015.
