Long Jump-

2019 State Champion: Lyn'Nikka Vance (Crete-Monee), 20'5.75"

Key Athletes: Raelyn Roberson (Sr., Glenview [Glenbrook South]), Mariam Azeez (So., Frankfort [Lincoln-Way East]), Sydney Willits (Jr., Glenview [Glenbrook South]), Riley Ammenhauser (Jr., Naperville [Neuqua Valley]), Emily Kim (Sr., Vernon Hills), Holly Vogt (Sr., McHenry), Lovie Annafi (Sr., Chicago Whitney Young), Isabelle Klett (Sr., Lake Zurich)

Breakdown: Six return from the podium last year. Saturday's final was a very windy affair that helped push the field to big numbers. Raelyn Roberson has eleven 19ft performances on her resume including an indoor 19'4 national top ten mark just a few weeks ago. Indoor season is a good indicator of a jumper's ability as there are no weather conditions to consider. With her focus on speed in the offseason and her jumping ability, she has her eyes set on her first title and possibly the magical 20ft mark before she heads south to SMU.

Her teammate and training partner Sydney Willits also pose as a threat in this event, with the ability to crack the 19ft barrier. This is Riley Ammenhauser's secondary event, but she has the skill set to walk away with the title.

Mariam Azeez ended last season as the nation's fifth-ranked freshman long jumper, she will get faster which will translate to further distances.

Emily Kim hit a hot streak during the championship portion of the season if she catches fire once again look for her near the top of the podium. This event could be unpredictable in many ways, someone always emerges and pops a big one into the pit.
