Class A Boys Sprints Pre-Season Preview

300H-
2019 State Champion: Mason Barr (Colfax Ridgeview) 37.70
Key Returners: Chandler Ellis (Sr., Winnebago), Cody Thole (Sr., Princeville), Jack Elder (Sr., St. Anthony), Ramsey Hunt (Sr., Shiloh), Kollin Schlipf (Jr., El Paso-Gridley), Tanner Kalkbrenner (Jr., Lena-Winslow), Reece Ramirez (Jr., Ridgeview), Bennett Soltow (Jr., Forreston), Carter Ritzheimer (Jr., Breese Mater Dei), Luke Myszka (So., Downs [Tri-Valley]), Carson Collet (Jr., Seneca), Clayton McCoy (Jr., Decatur [Lutheran]), Zach Roebuck (Jr., St. Bede), Calvin Brewer (Sr., Riverton)
Outlook: The talent in this event is perhaps skewed for the majority of the time because  A key example of that was Mason Barr last year. Barr had a huge PR at the state meet because for the first time all year he didn't have to run the 4x200m beforehand.

If Chandler Ellis is not the top star in the classification this year, it will be a shocker. Winnebago doesn't have the pieces to put together an all-state 4x200m this year it seems so it just opens to the door for Ellis to make a huge jump. He is the top returner from the state meet last year taking 4th place. With a PR of 39.91 Ellis is the clear preseason favorite to tear up class 1A.

Jack Elder joins Ellis as the only returning all-stater. Elder though ran a PR of 40.86 last year and looks to be far behind with ground to make up. Still, with the likes Elder and Cody Thole could impress some this year.
