2020 Rears The Class A Girls Pre-Season Field Previews

Shot Put-
2019 State Champion: Chloe Lindeman (Fulton) 47'9.25"
Key returners: Claire Bushur (Sr., Teutopolis), Katelyn Young (Sr., Oakwood), Brenna Noon (Jr., Oregon), Annah Miller (Sr., Midwest Central), Julia Hahn (Jr., Liberty), Ellie Canaday (Sr., Auburn), Erica Techmanski (Sr., Seneca), Zoe Evans (Jr., Winchester), Olivia Campbell (So., Pittsfield)
Outlook: The past decade has been a glorious period in this event, with tremendous talents such as Kelsey Card, Kathleen "KD" Young, and the recently graduated two-time defending champion Chloe Lindeman. Although returners will be hard-pressed to match the past in terms of reaching the 50-foot barrier, there should be plenty of stellar performances to keep the interest in the event at a premium level.

Two-time returning state runner-up Claire Bushur should have a smile on her face as she looks to take to the torch and march toward greatness. As one of three returning 40-foot plus returners, the best bet would be to get in the 46-47 foot area on a regular basis in order to feel safe. Katelyn Young and Brenna Noon will be Bushur's biggest challenge this season.
