3A Girls Distance Preview: The Final Destination

The classic duel between KK and Enyaeva will go down in history as one of the best races of all time

Key returnersHart, Katie Hohe (Sr., Glen Ellyn [Glenbard West]), Samantha Poglitsch (So., Wheaton-Warrenville South), Isabelle Christiansen (Sr., Oswego) 5:01.71 3 810 Katherine Olsen (Sr., DeKalb), Molly FitzPatrick (So., Barrington), Madison Diercks (Jr., Belvidere North), Campbell Petersen (So., Naperville North), Erin Reidy (Jr., Naperville North), Katherine Olsen (Sr., Dekalb), Taylor Frommer (Sr., Hononegah), Brooke Stromsland (Sr., Lakes), Emily Eberhart (Sr., Yorkville), Helena Kleronomos (So., Yorkville), Kate Jortberg (Jr., Glenbrook South), Alex Morris (Sr., Naperville North), Claire Hill (Sr., Naperville North), Sarah May (Sr., York),
Breakdown: Hart proved her greatness in this event as a freshman, but she took things to a new level by becoming the first Illinois girl to win a national title, taking the New Balance Nationals Indoor crown in 4:45.47. She continued on with a 4:43.07 at Magis Miles. It's the all-time record. Although she and others may consider this her secondary event, Hart's closing speed has been her ally. She proved it by outkicking the great half-miler Enyaeva Michelin last spring in the fastest 1-2 finish in IHSA history. Keep in mind that Michelin has 56.xx speed and tremendous endurance. It only proved that Hart cannot be checkmated.

A great cast of characters to choose from. Isabelle Christiansen is a group of seven returning individuals who broke 5:00.
