The WSC Silver Conference Looks To Top The Conference Week

Katelynne Hart is a force to be reckoned with this fall. She has remained undefeated by anyone in the state and looks to continue this streak at her conference championship meet. Hart is coming off a fantastic performance at the Naperville Twilight Invite, where she ran a 16:35 in less than favorable conditions. She has not run her best race of the season yet, as she is prepped to destroy the 16 minute barrier. Glenbard West looks to win the team title, supported by the single-digit point by Hart. The Hilltoppers will lean on their 2-3 runners Katie Hohe and Chloe Connelly, who are both much more fit than they showed at Naperville last week. If all race well, the Hilltoppers should be able to top the conference field.

To win, the Hilltoppers will have to contend with pre-race favorite, Lyons Township. The Lions have been led by sophomore, Kate Dickman, who has been one of the most improved runners this fall. Look for Dickman to place in the top five in this race. Lyons has taken quite a few hits this year, as Emily Henkel has not competed for them yet this season. However, the Lions #4 and #5 runners, Sarah Barcelona and Claire Williams, pack up well together and greatly affect the team score. Expect to see an intense battle between the Lions and the Hilltoppers, as both teams have what it takes to win.

Individual runners that should round out the top five behind Hart are McKenna Revord (Hinsdale Central), Dickman, Hohe, and Sarah May (York).
