The 14th Annual DGS Mustang Relays Means Fast Action Under The Lights!

It will be all business in the 4x2 with Jaimie Robinson and company

Girls 4x200-

Meet record: Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) 1:41.03 (2016)

2016 season best: Lincoln-Way East 1:39.92

Championship section teams: Homewood-Flossmoor, West Aurora, Bolingbrook, Lincoln-Way East, Downers Grove North

-Expect Homewood Flossmoor to come in focused and mad like a pack of killer bees. The Vikings were denied of a new season best over the weekend due to a lane infraction. That is over with. What is not over with is who will be the fastest quartet at the end of the night?  HF did not run regular Olivia Oliver who was out sick at the HF ABC Invite. Jaimie Robinson will be all speed in this relay only affair. There are replacements and that will have to do against a few teams ready to stack their arsenal. West Aurora could be that team ready to rock and roll. Dajour Miles is the premier 200m specialist in Illinois and she will have teammate Tamia Rayford on her side. If the Blackhawks get the jump on the field by the time Miles gets the stick it will be over.

Boys 4x200-

Meet record: Plainfield South 1:30.50 (2011)

2016 season best: Plainfield North 1:31.19

Championship section teams: Downers Grove North, Plainfield East, Lyons Twp., Neuqua Valley, Proviso East, Batavia

-This is least talented event on paper and terms of times, but for the entertainment buck it is the most exciting to watch. Well... if you like slapstick comedy and roller derby track racing this is your event. You are guarranteed to see several DQ's, lane violations, and of course numerous dropped batons and collisions. There is no clear favorite here and the state best 1:32.06 by Homewood-Flossmoor might stick. Glenbard West has the best overall time and IL #7 mark (1:33.00) but the Hilltoppers will be in the penultimate section five. They will have some company as Bolingbrook somehow ran 1:34.07- good for IL #9 but got left out of the fast section. Lyons, Proviso East and Batavia sport the state's #7, #8, and #10 marks.
