The culmination of the 122nd running of the IHSA track and field state championship came to a glorious close Saturday afternoon. Eastern Illinois University officials have said that O'Brien Field has the capacity to reach up to 15,000 fans. It certainly looked that way as both sides of the stands were filled to the rim. The energy that followed most of the races was indescribable. The 2016 state championship will go down as one of the best in a long time.
