Outlook: The defending meet champions and event record holders are back with all four legs including senior twins Sean and Chris Torpy. Sandburg has entered two teams which should place in the top 10 overall assuming they don't split personnel ahead of the upcoming New Balance Indoor Nationals at the end of the week in New York. By all accounts it should be a great affair against Lyons Township who they beat last spring for their first state championship. The Eagles are loaded and they will be pushed despite having to "A" runners like IL #2 800m man Chris Torpy who ran 1:55.60 at the Proviso West Invitational. His partner in crime has a personal 1:56 on his resume. Lyons is good too. They have a collective unit featuring three legs back after running 7:43 last year. Neuqua Valley is entering a new era with star Ty Moss who graduated. Look for junior Isaiah Robinson to build that new regime around him. Robinson is molding into one of the best middle distance runners in the state already running 1:56 in the early going. Hinsdale South is an interesting team in that the Hornets have been emerging for several years in the shadow of big brother Hinsdale Central. Expect South to produce a nice number with seniors Roman Drabchuk and Charlie Nodus leading the way. Whitney Young could be a team running sub 8:00 with the big boys. It's always hard to make predictions outside of the big forces because someone unexpectedly will step up and run lights out.
