Salute To Seniors: Erika Simple - Normal University High School



What was your most memorable race?

My most memorable race was winning the 400m at the McComb 2A sectionals my junior year in a school record 58.62 in 2012. I lowered it at the 2013 State Meet to a 58.55.  
 
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
 
My biggest competition in our Corn Belt Conference was Mahomet Seymour.
 
What was your greatest accomplishment?

The greatest accomplishment was making it to state all four year and eight times total (seven individuals events and one relay).
 
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
 
One thing I would change is to work harder in the off season.
 
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
 
The biggest obstacle was not having a high school track to practice on everyday.
 
What are your college plans?
 
I will be running track at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. Go Miners!
 
Who would you like to say thank you to?
 
I would like to thank all my coaches and teammates over  the years and most of all my parents Eric and Jennifer Simple and my brother Darius for running with me all the time.
