2019 Team Pre-Season Twitter Previews


Boys Team Capsules

Plainfield South: The Cougars will be led by returning state qualifiers Christian Knowlton, Myles Lincoln and Niko Schultz. Goals are always to compete for the SPC team title, improve throughout the year, and peak in May as a team with hopes of competing on Saturday at State.

Galva: Returning for the Wildcats this year is defending state champ Peyton Sopiars (1A Triple Jump), and 1600/3200m state qualifier and all state XC runner Caelin Foley. Between the two we hope to qualify in at least 4 events this year with hopes of placing in all of them.

Are Plano boys ready for that next step? Seniors Sebastian Esparza, Christian Graham, Jorge Aguilar, Brandon Littlefair, & Chris Leyva lead the way. On the track look out for Dixon, Cullison, Peray, Hunt, Diaz, Thoms, & Lazarit.   Estrada, Chernick, and Fox will aid in field events.

Lake Forest () is excited to see how D1 football recruits & newcomers Rylie Mills & Chase Bahr will contribute in the throws to give top returners Bennett Flynn, Ben Rosa, Nate Schmitt, Tyjaun Scott & Tyler Trachsel more firepower for another great season. Go Scouts!

St. Laurence: Conference & Sectional Champs looking for continued success. Strong in sprints w/ depth in jumps, throws & distance. Juniors Brailyn Johnson, Cameron Yarbrough, & Rodney Quinn return to lead the sprints, along w/ Kyle Ecker in Throws & Aidan McCarthy in Hurdles.

Romeoville: Sectional champs, led by Amiri Buchanan (throws) & a young group of sprinters/jumpers. Kamari Rush, Kejuan Stamps, Jaquille Brown, & Jayden Green (relays). Antwi, Brown, & Stamps in TJ/LJ. Looking to improve on '18 success w/ hopes of more state qualifiers.


Kaneland: Defending NIBXII Conference Champs look to seniors @75hahn, @kangelotti23, @angelotti12, Zach Denning, Aidan Lodwig, @jakewielgos, and @bemomerican to lead talented Junior, Sophomore, and Freshmen classes. Occhipinti, Adams, Walker, Nosek, and Neal had tremendous XC seasons.


Elmwood Park: Seeking 3rd straight Conference title. Senior class led by Pudlo (110H), 4x8 (Sanchez, Ocampo, Jones-Plasencia, Vicencio), Gomez (3200), & Rivera + Coleman (PV). Sectional hosts for 1st time in school history w/ hopes of sending a big group of Tigers to Charleston


Antioch: NLCC Champs. All-Stater Chase Becker is back w/ Matt Becker, Zach Grindley, Nico Fier,& Charlie Smith. Help will come from the Kaliakmanis brothers, Tre Watson, & Robby Christiansen. Mikey Volkmar & Sebby Scofield will aid distance events, watch for Tyler Oslage in PV
