Jaimie Robinson outshines herself with all-time/all-conditions Illinois best 44-4
There was some speculation and even controversy regarding the MONSTER triple jump measured beyond belief. Robinson's no doubter was measured at 44-4 (no wind reading) on her fourth attempt. That mark will stand after meet officials had to decide whether to accept the mark after the event was officially closed. Regardless, the mark will stand. Robinson's series went 41-9, 42-11, 42-9, 44-4. P, P.
Brittany Daniels (Merrill West HS; Tracy, CA) holds both the all-time all conditions and legal marks at 45-7.5 and 44-11.75. Daniels went on to place 4th in the USA Senior Nationals, just missed making the world championship team in 2005. Robinson's performance earns the #5 all-time all-conditions performer ever in US history.
Robinson, the daughter of former NBA great Glenn Robinson, will now compete this weekend in Sacramento, California at the US Junior National Championships with an opportunity to make the Pan-Am team.
