300H-

2015 State Final: Miya Dorsey (Belleville East) 42.94

Outlook: State runner-up Grace Cronin's (Fenwick) team strangely dropped to 2A. She in effect was robbed of an opportunity to roll in the major league. The throne would have fallen to Addison Coy... but she has transferred to Culver Academy in Indiana. Barrington coach Jody Gitelis believes Coy was ahead of former legend Molly Glantz with two seasons to go. Lajarvia Brown will be better this season after a good run through in an event that she dabbled in. Brown is fast enough and talented enough to run under 43-seconds. Savannah Long and Alexis Pierre-Antoine will have something to improve this spring.

2015 State Champion: Brittny Ellis 24.38

Outlook: No Illinois girl broke 24-seconds in 2015. Ellis had the fastest time of any one in Illinois officially. Dajour Miles will come into high school ranked in the top five all-time if her records would count. Cinnamon ran a swift 24.10 last season and some people in her camp were a little disappointing. Coach Boatright had targeted his pupil to run 23.80. That will have to wait until the season is well underway.

There are only four all state returners back: D'Jenne Egharevba, Norma Abdul-Rafia, and Asia Brown. Adbul-Rafia and Brown will be key runners in the state this season. But guess what? The top returner time wise is Jezel Martin. She qualified for state easily but withdrew from the prelims to concentrate on the relays. It paid off as she earned two medals.

2015 State Final: Jayla Stewart (Homewood-Flossmoor) 14.01

Outlook: Look here it is Alexis Pierre-Antoine as the top returner as the top performer and only all-stater. It will be a great time for redemption for the senior who has been a part of a great era for the Griffins. APA has run on some great relays but the reality is she is a hurdler by birth and it is time to shine bright in 2016. As for the rest of the returning class it is names by committee. Take your pick of the top returners below.
