Meet Info

We are very happy to welcome you to our annual invite.  We hope you will enjoy your experience here.  This year, the meet will be timed by IL Prep Top Timing.  To help with making the invite more efficient, each school needs to provide a field event worker.  Please e-mail sheridanp@epcusd401.org your worker name and preferred area to work (Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault by 12pm on Tuesday, April 19thAll schools will assist with exchange zones.

General Info:

  1. Entries:  Please register for the meet: https://www.milesplit.com/meets/471465/registration and make entries by 12pm on Wednesday, April 20th.

  2. Competitors are limited to 4 events.  JV (girls) or Frosh-Soph (boys) athletes may compete on both levels.  There will be JV/Frosh-Soph 4x100, 4x200 and 4x800 Relays.  ***There will be 3 entries per individual event***

  3. Scratches and substitutions will be allowed before the coaches meeting.

  4. There will be a coaches meeting at 4pm.  Please report to the concession stand.

  5. Results will be available at the conclusion of the meet.

Meet Information:

  1. Please keep athletes off the infield and away from the bullpen and finish area.

  2. Runways and apron are rubberized surfaces like the track.

  3. Starting heights will be determined by entries.

  4. Pole Vaulters and throwing implements will be weighed, by 4pm, at the garage next to shot put (southwest part of the stadium).  Vaulters must bring their weight card signed by their coach.

  5. For Long and Triple Jump, Shot and Discus, contestants will be given 4 attempts with no finals.

  6. Spikes must be no longer than 1/4th inch length.

  7. Athletes may warm up in outside lanes or on the trail.

  8. Camps should be outside the track fence area.

  9. A concession stand will be open. Bathrooms are in the same building.

  10. A trainer will be on duty.

  11. Girls races will precede Boys races.  Please instruct your athletes to be ready for the events so that we may run this meet without any delay.  We will be using a 1st call, 2nd call and final call system.  At 1st call, athletes should check in with the clerk to receive their hip number/lane assignment.  At 2nd call, athletes must report to and stay in the bullpen.  At final call, athletes will be walked from the bullpen to the track for their event.  We will not wait for any athlete who does not report on time. They will be scratched from the competition.

Awards

There will be medals awarded for 1st-3rd places in the individual events and relays.  The JV/Frosh-Soph events will be scored along with the varsity scoring.  Please keep the 4x400 Relay comprised of a freshman, then a sophomore, then a junior and then a senior (classic format).  If you do not have a runner at the appropriate level, using a promoted younger athlete is preferred.  At the conclusion of the meet, the 1st and 2nd place boys and girls teams will receive a team award.

 

Scoring

Every event will be scored 10-8-6-4-2-1.

Tiger Track Markings

The finish line is a common white line. The starting lines are as follows:

100 hurdles/dash: Yellow                                 400 relay: Yellow

110 hurdles: Blue                                               800 relay: Red/Red/Yellow

200 dash: White                                                 1600 relay: Blue

300 hurdles: White                                            800 run: White

Exchange zones: Large colored triangles

Acceleration zones: Small colored triangles

Order of Events

4:30pm - Field Events

Girls Shot Put and Boys Discus begin

(1-2 flights to be run in order - 4 throws/no finals)

Girls Discus and Boys Discus (following completion of

*Begins 15 minutes after completion of Girls Shot Put and Boys Discus

Girls/Boys Long Jump (45 minutes cafeteria style) 2 separate runways going in the same direction

(4 jumps/no finals)

Girls/Boys Triple Jump (45 minutes cafeteria style) same runways as long jump

(4 jumps/no finals)

*Begins 15 minutes after completion of Long Jump

Girls High Jump followed by Boys (opening heights TBD)

5:00pm - Introduce Elmwood Park Seniors and Parents followed by the National Anthem
