CONCEPT
Inspire the next generation of runners with the experience of racing in the footsteps of their running heroes like Paula Radcliffe and Meb Keflezighi
The Northside Southside Challenge gives high school athletes the unique opportunity to compete in an invitational meet on the race-day course while the preeminent Bank of America Chicago Marathon is in progress.
Compete in the last 2.62 miles of Chicagos world-renowned course while 45,000 marathoners take on the challenge of conquering 26.2 miles in front of more than 1.5 million spectators. The Northside/Southside Challenge ends at the same official finish line elite marathon runners will cross.
Athletes will compete on behalf of their respective high schools as well as part of the larger Northside or Southside teams.

TENTATIVE START TIME: Boys- 7:40 a.m., Girls- 7:50 a.m. (Subject to change)
DISTANCE: 2.62 Miles
LOCATION: Bank of America Chicago Marathon the start is on South Michigan Avenue near 31st Street. The race is a point to point course with the finish on Columbus Drive near Balbo Drive athletes will compete on the Marathon course and finish at the official finish line.
HOST SCHOOL: Whitney Young is the host school. The race is sanctioned by the IHSA.
ATHLETE AMENTITIES
REGISTRATION: Schools will be allowed 7 boys and 7 girls to be entered. Please visit www.chicagomarathon.com/NikeNorthsideSouthsideRegistration to register your team. This event will close out and teams will be registered on a first come, first served basis. Contact Bob Geiger with questions regarding registration (bgeiger357@hotmail.com).
