Where Are They Now? Haley Goers

Haley Goers was a seven time state medalist in track and field and cross country for Hoffman Heights High School. As a senior she finished 8th at the Illiniois State Cross Country Championships. Goers has a personal best time for three miles of 17:04 which she set at the state meet. Goers is now a freshman at Purdue University. We catch up with Goers in a feature we like to call Where Are They Now?

Where did you continue your running career after high school?

I continued running for Purdue University.
 
What was the biggest adjustment you had to make to compete at the college level? 

The biggest adjustment was just doing things on my own such as eating habits, sleeping habits, and studying patterns.
 
Is there anything you can tell high school athletes to better prepare them for the college experience?

The best thing I can tell them is to just be patient.
 
You had a lot of great moments in your high school career. Which stand out the most?

The memories from high school that I will remember most is the team and to know and understand everyone.
 
What do you miss most about running in high school?
 
I miss my team and coach the most.
 
What piece of coaching or advice that someone gave you has been the biggest help?

The best advice that was given to me was to be patient and to believe in myself because i have the talent. I just need to have the trust in the team and coaches and most of all myself.
