
Illinois high school track and field athletes posted personal bests across multiple events during the week of May 18.
Amarion Parker (Hyde Park, Chicago) won the long jump at the IHSA Class 2A TRB Sectional with a leap of 22-1.25, improving from his previous best of 20-4. The senior ranks #96 in Illinois and #27 among state seniors.
Mia Little (Wheaton North) cleared 5-4.75 in the high jump at the IHSA Girls Track & Field State Championship, breaking her previous mark of 5-2. The school record performance placed her 9th of 93 competitors and #19 in the state.
Blessing Aneng (Niles North, Skokie) threw 42-5 in the shot put at the IHSA Girls Track & Field State Championship, improving from 38-5.75. Her 7th-place finish moves her to #7 in Illinois among 3,293 athletes.
Khaire Muhammad (Harlem, Machesney Park) ran 15.04 in the 110-meter hurdles at the IHSA Class 3A TRB Sectional, dropping from his May 2026 time of 16.08. The junior finished 4th out of 22 competitors and set a personal best of 41.67 in the 300-meter hurdles, improving on 44.21.
Robert Crum (Yorkville) threw the discus 159-8 at the IHSA Class 3A TRB Sectional, improving from 144-6.5. The sophomore's 4th-place performance ranks #77 in the state and #8 among state sophomores.
Emily King (Knoxville Senior) ran 10:59.20 in the 3200 meters at the IHSA Girls Track & Field State Championship, breaking her previous best of 11:21.73. The school record performance placed 22nd of 103 competitors, and King also set personal bests in the 1600 meters (5:14.71, from 5:25.08) and 800 meters (2:19.99, from 2:23.95).
Brianna Harms (Lowpoint-Washburn) ran 25.51 in the 200 meters at the IHSA Girls Track & Field State Championship, improving from her May 2026 time of 26.33. The school record performance placed 45th of 109 competitors, and the senior also ran a personal best 43.74 in the 300-meter hurdles, dropping from 45.53.
