Karanveer Patil: Strolls through the Detweiller Park course the first time at the state meet

Lake Zurich knew their cross country future would be bright last year, the same as when eighth grader Karanveer Patil was mobbing the middle school scene. True to form, he entered this year cool as the other side of an unused pillow. In Patir's first big invite, the Richard Spring Invitational, during the middle of September, he was the top underclassman, placing eighth in 14:56.
Patil cracked the 15:00 barrier a total of five times for three miles, including conference, regional, sectional, and the 3A state championship.
