2024 MileSplit IL Team Power Rankings-Outdoor Debut

Remember indoors when we mentioned that 3A Boys will have a bunch of movement even as we progress outdoors? Well we will stick with that proclamation as  we march closer to May and teams begin to give us new data to cipher through. The first outdoor rankings gave us a lot of numbers, mainly from the mega Belleville West Invitational. The quality points, not the full team standings equated to Edwardsville being on top of the rankings. The Tigers produced two state leads (Triple Jump + 4x200m) supported by other top five ranked performances. The scouting report says the Tigers still have some tricks up their sleeves. Oak-Park didn't venture South, but still produced quality performances led by state leader Kaden Garland in shot put and top threats Kwabena Osei-Yeboah and Caleb Schulz. A surprise to some may be an O'Fallon team that quietly produced some quality performances as well. The Panther 4x800 currently leads the state, Omar Mims is a sprinter on the rise, Zach Thoman and Dylan Ybarra are individual distance threats. Belleville West produced one state leading performance and several top five performances at their home meet capping off a great weekend for the sometimes forgotten Metro East area. Kenwood rounds out the top five with two state leading victories and some top five individual performances. Remember all, these are not future rankings, we know many teams have not shown full strength, until that happens follow the data.
