With the 4th Annual Morolake Akinosun Invitational registration reaching its total capacity of 600 athletes, this is a strong signal that the 2024 indoor track and field season is ready to take the cover off the roof.
The Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center (aka Gately Track & Field Center) has already hosted several meets to rev up things. However, it is January, which means a layer of unseen top-notch athletes will emerge from their hibernation.
Though most kids will compete as unattached or club athletes, their marks will still be represented and transmitted into their school affiliations.
The combination of high school and middle school offers a mix of mature and emerging athletes, which is usually nice to see.
This year's version will see athletes from all over the Midwest, but there are several kids from Georgia and the eastcoast.
