Maggie Quinn

After many vital runners lost to graduation, York head coach Lauren DeAngelis had a slight dilemma entering the 2023 cross-country season. The main issue was who would compliment the senior trio of Katherine Klimek, "Maggie" Margaret Owens, and Michaela Quinn

Enter Maggie Quinn. She is the younger sister of Michaela and an emerging star after running 18:17 and placing 28th in the state meet as a freshman.

Now a sophomore, Quinn inserted herself into scoring five right away. In the first major confrontation of the season at the Harvey Braus Lake Park Invitational, the Lady Dukes placed second to WSC Conference rival Downers Grove North but defeated then-defending #1 Prospect. Quinn was the fifth runner and took 17th overall in 18:17.

Quinn would eventually settle in as the team's anchor and close out races. As a result, the Lady Dukes won their second state title in three years. They would also advance to the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon, as an at-large selection. The result was a Midwest regional leading 12th overall. "Maggie is a very consistent competitor with a tough mindset- she is always ready to step up when needed and, with no doubt, will always finish strong," said DeAngelis. "I look forward to seeing what she can do over the next two years!" Thanks to Quinn, the Lady Dukes enjoyed one of the best seasons in school history.
