VIDEOS I RESULTS
It was an ominous starting day for a cross-country meet with dark skies, which dropped rain upon the Legion Park course on Chicago's northside. Fortunately, Mother Nature was kind enough to allow the good fans to partake in a quality invitational.
The third and final edition typically is the grandstand of the series, with CPL powers Whitney Young and Lane Tech mixing it up among solid programs from host Mather and Payton. Private schools Depaul College Prep and Latin were also in attendance for the two-mile affair. Dick Pond Athletics and CYUP TRAINING sponsored the event.
Lucia Ton-That (Jr., Northside Prep) ran away with her second title in as many weeks, using a first mile around 5:41. She never looked back and glided home in 11:39.
Will Kozlowski (Sr., Lane Tech) had some company for the first mile, which was fast in 4:44. However, he was able to drop the passengers off shortly after that point and burst home with a new meet record of 9:37.8.
