-This classification should be the best all around in terms of talent and pure performances that will light up the scoreboard and rankings. It's all there with jumps, distance, throws, hurdles, sprints, and relays
============
The Johnson sisters: Senior Alex Johnson and sophomore Dominique Johnson are simply the best in the state in the combined jumps. In fact, they have an opportunity to go down as the best-ever sibling duo in track and field in the two-year span. They are tied at IL#1 in the triple jump at 40-2.25 and ranked in the top 20 in the country. In the long jump, Alex is clearly the best in the state with an eye-popping 20-0.5 mark. That ranks eighth in the country. Look for the Johnson's to sweep both jumps and make extraordinary history.
Grace Schager (Sr., Carol Stream Glenbard North) has made the most of a record breaking final indoor season. She has the IL#1 3200m time of 10:19.23 and IL#2 1600m in 4:53.38. Schager has gotten the job done by running incredibly even splits on the longer races. She has broken 2:20 in the 800 for the first time which indicates her speed has mightily improved. As scary as it sounds she has an opportunity to break both class records this weekend.
Joscelyn Dieckman (Jr., Dekalb)- The girls pole vault in this class has improved significantly here and Dieckman is a key reason why. Nearly the 13-foot barrier with her 12-9.25 with this last opportunity before shifting outdoors, she is going to go for it.
Ana-Liese Torian (Sr., Homewood-Flossmoor) has woken up in recent weeks and appears to be the superstar in the wake of the outdoor season. She has some business to take care of in Bloomington. The 60H record of 8.47 is in trouble.
Prospect 4x800 relay: Believe it or not the all-time record of 9:18.80 has a chance to fall... by the "B" team. It was earlier in the month that the Knights secondary unit (for real four different girls) ran the state's fastest time for about 15 minutes at the Downers Grove South Mustang Relays in 9:28.81. Their A team smashed the all-time mark in 9:04.68. The "B" Knights still have the third best time behind Hinsdale Central with all things considered. They have an opportunity to duel.
